The editors didn't like

  • Slightly confusing typeface on keys
  • Backlighting doesn’t apply to Shift keys
  • No light customising to go with macros
  • Backlighting doesn?t apply to Shift+ keys
  • Backlighting and a few spare ports don't justify the $40 premium over the non-Ultimate BlackWidow
  • Lacks resounding blueswitch feel
  • MMO gamers may want more macro keys
  • No more dedicated macro keys (though you can still use other keys to record macros)
  • Not much reason of an upgrade if you already have a BlackWidow Ultimate
  • Does not support Chroma SDK and no custom lighting presets from the community yet
  • Clack clack clack. don't expect this to be quiet. Or cheap

  • Lacks resounding blue, switch feel, MMO gamers may want more macro keys
  • Taken on its own, the Razer Ultimate BlackWidow is a sturdy, responsive keyboard that will do what you want most out of a peripheral - fade into the periphery, especially if you disable the backlight. And as much as Razer would like you to believe it has...
