Mechanical key-presses are a satisfaction unto themselves. Backlit. USB and headphone/mic pass-throughs give ease-of-access to ports. Flexible macro and customisation system. Heavier than many laptops
The editors didn't like
Slightly confusing typeface on keys
Backlighting doesn’t apply to Shift keys
No light customising to go with macros
Backlighting doesn?t apply to Shift+ keys
Backlighting and a few spare ports don't justify the $40 premium over the non-Ultimate BlackWidow
Lacks resounding blueswitch feel
MMO gamers may want more macro keys
No more dedicated macro keys (though you can still use other keys to record macros)
Not much reason of an upgrade if you already have a BlackWidow Ultimate
Does not support Chroma SDK and no custom lighting presets from the community yet
Clack clack clack. don't expect this to be quiet. Or cheap

Excellent for typing and gaming; mechanical keys are the best, Software is simple and easy to assign any function to any key for any game
Breakin period can take awhile, even with extended use, Expensive; as much as the standard “stealth” model for a very limited Mass Effect paint job, The Mass Effect 3 addons are a joke.
Comfortable to type on, Macro buttons, Nice looking, Comfortable MX switches
Price
I have used the keyboard for both gaming and normal daily usage and found the Cherry MX red switches to be quite comfortable to use. The keys don’t click as much as the blue and brown and the red really feels like they are meant for typing. I found a ...

Priced at £74, the Razer Black Widow Ultimate is, according to us, asking for too much moolah. In fact, if you do not want any of the fancy features like the backlighting, the macro keys or the USB port then you can go ahead and buy the standard Black...

Even by Razer's own standards, the BlackWidow Ultimate misses several tricks. There's no choice of backlight colour, unlike the Anansi. Plus, while the Cherry keys have a clean action, the coating feels uncomfortable, and the clunk-click of the keys is ve...

Typing experience is light and springy. Backlighting. Fully customizable keyboard. Macro editing. Keyboard's downloadable software has easy to use UI.
Can't adjust the color of the backlighting like in other Razer models. Glossy frame attracts smudges.
The Razer Black Widow Ultimate keyboard provides users with a light and springy typing experience, but personal taste may set in when considering the clicky keys. Buy it now...
