The editors didn't like

  • Slightly confusing typeface on keys
  • Backlighting doesn’t apply to Shift keys
  • No light customising to go with macros
  • Backlighting doesn?t apply to Shift+ keys
  • Backlighting and a few spare ports don't justify the $40 premium over the non-Ultimate BlackWidow
  • Lacks resounding blueswitch feel
  • MMO gamers may want more macro keys
  • No more dedicated macro keys (though you can still use other keys to record macros)
  • Not much reason of an upgrade if you already have a BlackWidow Ultimate
  • Does not support Chroma SDK and no custom lighting presets from the community yet
  • Clack clack clack. don't expect this to be quiet. Or cheap

  • Cherry MX Blue mechanical-key switches offer one of the most satisfying typing experiences available; backlighting helps you game in the dark; on-the-fly macro recording; intuitive driver software
  • Backlighting and a few spare ports don't justify the $40 premium over the non-Ultimate BlackWidow
  • At $125, the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate is a competitively priced mechanical gaming keyboard in its range. We just wish Razer had done more to set this "Ultimate" edition apart from Razer's more affordable standard BlackWidow.

  • Great key mechanisms, strong build, just the right number of features.
  • Attracts fingerprints, noisy, doesn’t offer many more features than $50cheaper basic model.

  • As I wrote this, I felt more and more that this particular keyboard is a “don’t buy” at the moment. There are too many other good keyboards on the market, and even if you were to opt for the significantly lower-priced basic Black Widow (no backlight, ...

  • Excellent key action, satisfying click, good programmability,
  • Only one USB passthrough port.
  • The Black Widow Ultimate is Razer's new, flagship keyboard with a marriage of old-school, mechanical action and modern macro capabilities and lighting. With an excellent construction and fast response rate, does the Black Widow Ultimate live up to it...

  • Abstract:  You got to love the way the way Razer names it products. This company has been working hard for the past three years for mechanical keyboards. They didn’t want to make those traditional keyboards which give you a feeling of fatigue during long hours of...

  • At £110, the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate feels a little pricey next to the Corsar and Tesoro water-resistant models, since both of those offer full RGB backlighting as well for just £10 more ($10 more for the Tesoro, which isn't in the UK), though in the ca...

  • Antismudge surface, Programmable lighting, Fully programmable keys, Razer switches, USB/audio pass through
  • Nonexistant bundled accessories, Metal bar stabilisers
  • The BlackWidow Ultimate 2016 edition makes some interesting advances that fans of the BlackWidow will really enjoy. The advanced programmable lighting is great, especially if you are someone that isn't hugely interested in buying into the RGB options. Thi...

  • The Razer BlackWidow Chroma (Origin PC Edition) is the most tricked-out keyboard in Razer's lineup, with a full numpad, macro keys and extensive lighting and software options. The company's own Green switches are on board, but the stabilizers flanking t...

  • None.
  • The Razer Black Widow Ultimate 2016 is a fantastic keyboard. Not only does it look awesome but the Razer Green switches might just be my new favourite, offering satisfying tactile feedback with each press. While this isn't an RGB or ‘Chroma' keyboard, if y...
