The optical and mechanical quality of this lens is absolutely stunning. The small distortion at both ends of the zoom range is easily corrected and won't even be noticed in general use. Sharpness
Contrast and colour are superb.
The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM lens currently occupies a unique spot as a wide-aperture zoom lens built specifically for APS-C mounts. It has a great build quality and delivers excellent photo quality

There is nothing to dislike. We might grumble about the weight
But then look what we are getting

In almost all cases, if you have regular need for a serious zoom lens, then yes. Unless you have a niche concern like image stabilisation for video, or need a longer focal range, the Sigma is a great replacement for your current walk-around zoom. The pric...

As long as it stays at a sub-$1,000 price, the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM lens will be a great deal for photographers using APS-C dSLRs....
Not weathersealed despite excellent build quality and both internal zoom and focusing, Dreadful autofocus accuracy when using PDAF (looking through viewfinder), Bokeh can be jarring with highlights, producing "frogegg" or "donut" ring bokeh, Stark color,
Ever since the industry-shattering announcement of the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 HSM "Art," we couldn't wait to get our hands on a copy. Month after month of delays and pushed back release dates it finally arrived, and what an exciting time it was. This is espec...
The Sigma 18-35mm ƒ/1.8 DC HSM "A" lens packs a big punch in features and image quality without a big punch to the wallet. Shockingly sharp images at all apertures, even at ƒ/1.8, with excellent flatness of field and good control over chromatic aberration...
Abstract: Because of changing display and lighting conditions, photographing classic cars and locomotives in a transportation museum produces challenges that require the flexibility of a fast wide-angle zoom. When photographing inside Denver’s Forney Museum of...
Abstract: The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM lens is built for APS-C format cameras, providing a 27-52.5mm equivalent full frame field of view. At 1.78 lbs, the lens is not quite a bear; however, you'll definitely notice an increase and size and weight from other varia...

It's a f/1.8 constant zoom, excellent image quality, classic documentary focal range, solid build, hood included, priced lower than expected
Size and weight, crop sensor only, short zoom range, still not an inexpensive lens
Sigma has been on a roll with its Art lenses recently, and the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM is no exception. Image quality is excellent, build quality is solid and the price is outstanding. Using it made me remember those dark reception halls where that one ...
