The editors liked

  • I have to applaud the lengths to which Samsung has gone to in order to try and make the thing feel useful. This is not a device for people who struggle with applications but for those who love cool devices

  • Loads of features
  • Two days battery life is great
  • Captures 4K video
  • Features support for USB 3.0

The editors didn't like

  • The ridiculous number of features and the $999 price tag mean this is a serious invest and what I would have liked is a free cover to hide the plastic back
  • The ridiculous number of features and the $999 price tag mean this is a serious invest and what I would have liked is a free cover to hide the plastic back.
  • Screen DPI set too high
  • Fonts and icons are too large
  • Notification UI is a mess and needs to be fixed
  • Samsung's Android customisations may delay updates
  • Price compared to the competition
  • Many TouchWIZ features are gimmicks
  • Gallery app is sluggish
  • Tricky to hold
  • Expensive
  • S Pen still limited
  • Tacky plastic rear
  • TouchWiz needs a refresh. High price
  • More plastic casing
  • Even if it does have a nicer back than other Galaxy devices
  • Features the same bugs and crashes from this year's Galaxy-based smartphones in the Australian region (sigh)

  • Abstract:  We test a lot of smartphones here at PC Advisor, but recently two have stood out. The Sony Xperia Z1 and the Galaxy Note 3 are both big Android phones that offer stunning performance and excellent displays. They are part of a new breed of phones alongside...

  • We're not sure you need all the extra features that Samsung packs in, and we could live without the S Pen. And the 5.7in display will appeal only to those who especially want a large-screen phone. Neither is the camera all that great. But be in no doubt a...

  • Improved looks, Hugely powerful, 4K video looks epic, Improved camera over Note 2, Beautiful screen, New S Pen functionality,
  • Some will find it too big, SIM lock might be a problem, Handwriting recognition failure bug
  • There are a few little things about the Note 3 that we think require some attention, such as photo processing and possible concern over SIM region-locking. These feel like software issues though, and that gives us some hope that they might be fixed at som...

  • Crisp and vibrant HD screen; Smart 13megapixel camera; Incredible power; SPen and apps
  • No stunning new features; Niche product
  • Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 is an increment of the original and still one of the best phablets around. It may not offer a huge bag of new and exciting tricks, but its impressive power, even more spacious high-res screen and upgraded 13-megapixel camera make i...

  • Abstract:  And with the Galaxy Note 3 it's on, as the name implies, its third generation of a product that attempts to make pen and paper redundant – I really liked the Note 2, and the Note 3 is even better. It continues to do all the things that many users would e...

  • Abstract:  The Galaxy Note 3 is a phablet: a 6in device with the relatively large physical frame to match. But contrast the iPhone 5S is a svelte and sleek smartphone , offering performance and style in a small and slim package. They are oranges and apples, really -...

  • Abstract:  Samsung 's Galaxy Note 3 is the successor to the popular Note 2. Both phones feature bigger than average screens and an 'S Pen', which lets you draw on the smartphone's screen. The Note 3 is bigger and faster than it predecessor. It feels quicker when you...

  • Great screen, Lots of stylus functionality, Expandable memory
  • Expensive, Poor low-light camera performance, Complicated to use
  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 successfully continues the one Samsung series of phones that no other manufaturer to date has really managed to touch. Stylus phones aren't for everyone, but we have to applaud the lengths to which Samsung has gone to in order to...
