The editors liked

  • I have to applaud the lengths to which Samsung has gone to in order to try and make the thing feel useful. This is not a device for people who struggle with applications but for those who love cool devices
  • Great functionality and apps to kill for this is
  • 5.7” 1080 x 1920 screen in a lightweight
  • Comfortable body
  • Snapdragon 800 SoC with 3GB RAM
  • 32GB on-board storage with microSD expansion
  • Excellent battery life
  • Thinner & lighter than predecessor
  • Great performance
  • Fast and smooth
  • Great battery
  • Full HD display
  • 4G
  • Powerful
  • Fast and well featured. Bright
  • Full HD screen. S Pen better than ever
  • Big and bright screen that is lovely to use
  • Very
  • Very fast
  • Loads of features
  • Two days battery life is great
  • Captures 4K video
  • Features support for USB 3.0

The editors didn't like

  • The ridiculous number of features and the $999 price tag mean this is a serious invest and what I would have liked is a free cover to hide the plastic back
  • The ridiculous number of features and the $999 price tag mean this is a serious invest and what I would have liked is a free cover to hide the plastic back.
  • Screen DPI set too high
  • Fonts and icons are too large
  • Notification UI is a mess and needs to be fixed
  • Samsung's Android customisations may delay updates
  • Price compared to the competition
  • Many TouchWIZ features are gimmicks
  • Gallery app is sluggish
  • Tricky to hold
  • Expensive
  • S Pen still limited
  • Tacky plastic rear
  • TouchWiz needs a refresh. High price
  • More plastic casing
  • Even if it does have a nicer back than other Galaxy devices
  • Features the same bugs and crashes from this year's Galaxy-based smartphones in the Australian region (sigh)

  • Impressive though it undoubtedly is, the new Note 3 doesn't eclipse the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The Ultra's screen is larger and more natural in hue; Sony's tweaked version of Android is a darned sight less confusing than Samsung's; the bespoke Sony media a...

  • Massive, stunning 1080p display, Lighter and faster than before, Dizzying array of software enhancements
  • Some software enhancements are dubious, Like all phablets, it's huge
  • Should you get a phone or a phablet? Samsung isn't making the decision easy, thanks to its sheer number of available devices with all manner of screen sizes. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Mega (which we'll have a review of very soon) steps up to an eve...

  • Powerful, very fast, lots of storage, bursting with features, decent cameras, useful S Pen
  • Mostly aesthetic: frustrating and clumsy Touchwiz user interface, ugly faux leather backplate, cheap-looking design
  • This super-fast device is Samsung's lightest and thinnest Note so far. While its design lets the Galaxy Note 3 down, the device is loaded with plenty of business features, and is great for multitasking and heavy workloads....

  • Gorgeous screen, powerful processor, slim build, handy stylus
  • Too big for most pockets perhaps, not everyone likes the stylus
  • It's big, but it's beautifully formed, and delivers excellent performance and a world-leading screen. The camera is pretty good too but it's the S-Pen that really sells the Note series, and the new version is ace. View Gallery 6 items Spec...

  • Improved looks, hugely powerful, 4K video looks epic, improved camera over Note 2, beautiful screen, new S Pen functionality,
  • Some will find it too big, SIM lock might be a problem, handwriting recognition failure bug
  • There are a few little things about the Note 3 that we think require some attention, such as photo processing and possible concern over SIM region-locking. These feel like software issues though, and that gives us some hope that they might be fixed...

  • Sharp, colorful HD display; Impressive 13megapixel snapper; Great power; SPen plus apps.
  • Nothing new to shout about; Niche product.
  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is not a whole new phone, but an upgrade, however its sharp 5.7in HD display, 13MP snapper and great performance all appeal – and the S-Pen and creativity options make it stand out from the crowd...

  • Great battery life, Excellent screen, Top-notch specs and performance, More premium look and feel than previous Notes, Runs Android 4.3, the newest version
  • S Pen still doesn't feel like a must-have feature, Abundance of added features will be overwhelming for many, Poor speaker placement
  • For power users looking for a big-screen phone to help manage their hectic lives, the Galaxy Note 3 is a no-brainer, especially if you like the idea of using a stylus for jotting down notes. And even if you don't use the S Pen, the device still delivers...

  • Crisp, bold screen; Very powerful; Stylus is great for writing notes; Attractive design; Good camera
  • Enormous size will be cumbersome for most; Expensive; Camera doesn't impress in low light; Vast amounts of settings will be confusing for Android novices
  • Its huge 5.7-inch size means the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 really won't be to everyone's taste. If you're after a big screen, however, and a phenomenally powerful phone to help tackle anything your working life is likely to throw at it -- and you fancy hand-w...

  • The Note 3 seems like a great device, so far I've found nothing wrong. So much so that I really struggled to complete the “bad points” section at the top of the article. I'm basically going to be spending the next few weeks testing out all of the differen...

  • Abstract:  We've had the new Samsung Galaxy Note since Wednesday morning, and we're right in the middle of testing and reviewing, so expect to see our cogent thoughts on Monday. But for now, how about we take a look at one of the really cool features together, namel...
