As with most of Sony's products, you will pay a bit extra for the features, high performance and quality that one has come to expect from Sony. But the price is not that much different from the competition, so the HDR-SR12 is still a good value for the...

Excellent AVCHD video quality got better this time around. Extrawide 3.2inch touchscreen LCD is a big bonus. Outstanding sound quality
Massive internal hard drive makes it somewhat chunky and a bit of a load to carry. The Easy button should be bigger and easier to find. And it should be red. Yeah, red and all glowy
Good image quality, High data storage capacity and flexibility, Nice LCD touchscreen display
Menus not always intuitive, Tends to roll on the palm, No manual shutter speed or gain control

Takes beautiful HD video outdoors, Best camcorder stills yet, Incredible storage
Expensive, Falls down in very low light, Clunky menu system for key features (LCD brightness, for example), Eats batteries, *
The Sony Handycam HDR-SR12 is a slightly mixed bag with the ledger heavily weighted to the positive. Full HD 1920 x 1080I videos taken outdoors were terrific and they’re solid indoors when there’s enough light. Try shooting in very dim ro...
