The editors liked

  • Very good sequential performance
  • Light
  • Yet sturdy construction
  • Power efficient
  • Good speeds
  • Decent price (although Crucial drive is cheaper)
  • The Seagate 600 SSD offers fast performance and is available in the new ultrathin 5mm thickness

The editors didn't like

  • Could perhaps be a little lighter
  • Bad timing with Crucial's latest drives undercutting these
  • The new SSD requires the same power as a regular laptop hard drive
  • Its current estimated cost is comparatively high
  • And there's no 3.5-inch drive-bay caddy included

  • Very keen pricing, good performance
  • Higher idle power consumption
  • The Seagate 600 SSD is a good value but high-performance solid-state drive. Now over one year old, it's available at very competitive prices, around 42p per gigabyte for the larger 480 GB capacity model. Share this article Find the best price #re...

  • The Seagate 600 SSDs using the AMD 8700 controller have above-average performance, overall, and they come at an average price. The 240 GB version costs an average of £169, and the 480 GB models costs an average of £325. That translates to £0.70 per giga...

  • Good speeds, Decent price (although Crucial drive is cheaper)
  • Bad timing with Crucial's latest drives undercutting these
  • It's good to finally see another major player in the storage sector enter the bear pit that is the consumer SSD market - and Seagate's 600 series looks pretty damn good from the off.The only problem is Crucial has launched its M500 series at the same time...

  • The Seagate 600 series SSD comes at an MRP of Rs 17,500 which comes to around Rs 78.1 per GB. This is lower than the Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme, but the Samsung 840 Pro as well as the Corsair Neutron GTX selling at Rs 16,000 offer better performance and better...

  • Rugged Design, High Performance Drive, Good Read/Write Speed, Ideal Upgrade for performance system
  • A bit overpriced.
  • 240GB version of Seagate 600 SSD comes for Rs.16,400.00, while a 120GB version is also available that come for Rs.9000. 480GB would be more costlier. Here consumers are having choice to go with 3 different storage spaces. If you need an affordable solutio...

  • Lightening fast speed, shockresistant, SATA 6 Gb/s
  • High price
  • The overall performance of the 600SSD is quite powerful with high-end data transfer speed. Add the rugged and shock-resistant feature and this makes for a viable product but at a high price....
