Performed below expectation in a mixed-mode environment
Bombed at long range
Which is supposed to be a strength of the 802.11n spec
Really didn?t deliver up to expectation in a mixed-mode environment with G and B equipment and surprisingly the long range tests
Which is supposed to be a strength of the 802.11n spec were less than impressive.
Abstract: At long last, news of the first products based on Draft N of the not-yet-approved 802.11n specification are starting to trickle out. Despite numerous announcements, actual hardware has been scarce; first to the party is Linksyss WRT300N, a Wi-Fi rout...

Performed below expectation in a mixed-mode environment, Bombed at long range, which is supposed to be a strength of the 802.11n spec
Though it offers good maximum throughput, the Linksys WRT300N ultimately fails to do the new Draft N standard proud in both mixed-mode and long-range tests. Wait to see how the rest of the Draft N products fare. ...

Throughput is great but in our tests the WiFi range was not what we expected from the N standard. Great for apartments or smaller homes that are switching across to a full N-network.
Good quality of manufacture, Original design, Stable operation, Good performance (except for 802.11n and the WAN interface), Functional webinterface
Poor implementation of PPTP connection, Bandwidth doesn’t comply with the draft 802.11n specification, Does not support the 5GHz range, Low WAN speed, Inconvenient assembly/disassembly process, Not certified by the WiFi Alliance
The Linksys WRT300N is a well-made device that is a pleasure to work with. Its original case design will surely appeal to the user, except for people who don’t care at all about how their hardware looks. The router disappointed us somewhat with its...
Supports 802.11n with faster speed and longer range
Set-up process can take some time

Abstract: If you insist that your high-tech gear look the part, you’ll dig the paddle-shaped antenna on Linksys’ WRT300N Ver. 1. In terms of performance, though, we found it to be more effective at swatting flies than delivering the promised 300Mb/s networking. ...
Abstract: Just when you thought the debacle surrounding the 802.11n draft wireless specification couldn't get any worse it now looks like the wait for a final standard could extend into 2008. As our very own Gordon Kelly reported earlier this month not only did the...
This draft-n router has the best features of the group we tested, plus excellent documentation and setup. But its test performance did not live up to its billing.
Abstract: Linksys touts its new Linksys WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router as three devices in one box: a Wireless Access Point, a full-duplex 10/100 switch connecting your wired-Ethernet devices together, and a router. But does it perform as well as it boasts ...
