I feel that the Leofoto Ranger LS-365C carbon fiber tripod bridges a gap. It's as compact and lightweight as many travel tripods, but as rigid, sturdy and resistant to flexing as some of the most heavy-duty tripods on the market. That ticks a lot of boxes...
