The editors liked

  • This is a sleek fast phone
  • That is rich in applications and functionality. It will put the iPod under pressure while leaving brands like Nokia scratching their proverbial backside.
  • Excellent design with stunning AMOLED screen. Huge range of preinstalled software. First-class web browser with Flash. HTC Sense is superb

The editors didn't like

  • The application icons should be larger and one of the three buttons on the base of the phone enabled to activate the screen.
  • Poor 5-megapixel camera. Battery needs to be managed by the user. Needs at least 8GB of internal storage

  • Gorgeous screen, Slim chassis, Fast processor, Good quality 5MP camera, Speedy internet browser, Flash video support
  • Bluetooth battery stutters, Battery life suspect out the box, Can't delete whole inboxes in POP3 messaging
  • A step up from the handsets it's replacing the HTC Desire C is a decent budget-handset, although you may want to look elsewhere if you want more bang for your buck...

  • Water resistant, Fast and capable cameras - on both sides, Good screen, Very solid performance
  • A bit large and boxy, Not quite as snazzy as an HTC One M8
  • A premium smartphone with lots going for it, and the HTC Sense extras make it a compelling alternative to the Google Nexus One ...

  • Abstract:  There's no better evidence that Google's Android platform has come into its own this year than the HTC Desire. I may be going out on a limb here, but the Desire is undoubtedly an iPhone killer, even if it doesn't end up selling nearly as many units. I'...

  •   Unobtrusive utility value and design, Waterproof,
  •   Subpar low-light photography, Too much of a hit and miss without the view finder.

  • Lovely design and build, brilliant display, excellent web browser, superb integration with social networking services, Sense UI is fantastic
  • Phone heats up when in use, display is a fingerprint magnet, using optical trackpad to click pictures is inconvenient, camera has trouble focusing on smaller objects, poor FM radio reception, unimpressive battery life
  • The HTC Desire is priced at Rs. 26,000. Overall it is an excellent device. It looks and feels great, the display is brilliant and I loved the browser and the general speed of the interface. None of the flaws with the device are deal breakers. The batt...

  • Well designed, comfortable to use, Decent audio quality, Photo/Video capture is quite good, OTA to Froyo available
  • Battery life should have been better, Handset tends to heat up a bit during prolonged usage
  • ConnectivityThe Desire is well equipped for connectivity and thanks to Froyo one more addition was provided - 3G sharing via Wi-Fi so your handset becomes a Wi-Fi hot-spot for your laptop or any other device. Bluetooth with A2DP and USB 2.0 are part of...

  • Large WVGA 3.7-inch display; sleek form factor; HTC Sense software improves default Android UI; good integration of social-networking services; responsive, thanks to the 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 576MB RAM.
  • Screen dim in direct sunlight; colors of photos shot indoors appear dull; one-day battery life; microSDHC card slot blocked by battery.

  • The Google Nexus One was given the grace of a market head start but it's no longer standing lonely at the top. And even if it looks like a brotherly reunion, the HTC Desire is in fact a formidable rival. That's between HTC and Google though. Users have ha...

  • The HTC Desire is the best Android phone that you can buy right now, and it closely rivals (and sometimes beats) the iPhone and HD2 in terms of web browsing fidelity, performance, and more. It has a perfect interplay between hardware and software: the HTC...
