The editors liked
Image quality is excellent
Right up to ISO6400. The high-ISO
Low-light performance is brilliant
So even though it has an inbuilt flash it will hardly ever be needed. The kit lens is mechanically and optically outstanding.
The Fujifilm X-E2 delivers the same excellent photo quality as the X-E1
With a more streamlined design and slightly better performance
Excellent build and image quality
Built-in Wi-Fi
EVF builtin
920
000dot LCD
Faster responses
Improved AF system
The editors didn't like
The fixed LCD is a disappointment. Swivelling LCDs are so useful that omitting one at this price is regrettable. And the SD memory card cannot be accessed when the camera is on a tripod
Which again is unusual for a highclass camera
It's still not terribly fast
Especially for action
And the feature set remains relatively average. Plus you really don't want to use it for shooting video unless you're very careful about frame rates
Electronic viewfinder takes a little time to get used to
Lacks optical low-pass filter, No dedicated shooting mode wheel
The X-E2 is a camera that will please the avid photographer, with its throwback-yet-modern design and stellar image quality. This story, "Fujifilm X-E2 review: Compact camera for enthusiasts" was originally published by Macworld U.K. To comment on this art...
Excellent image quality, Fast maximum aperture kit zoom, Very good ergonomics, Very low noise levels
Expensive, Rather primitive video mode
Since the beginning of the digital imaging revolution the world of photography has changed radically and even more changes are on the horizon. MILC models will continue to steal market share from DSLRs and sometime in the near future I predict that MILC...
Using controls ranges from slightly to extremely frustratin, Camera over-processes image, crushing detail in dark area, Colors sometimes inaccurat, Expensive for what you get
The X-E2 produces good-quality images, but no better than cheaper rivals do. While the camera looks nice, it's rather difficult to use. Fujifilm continues its line of retro-nostalgic mirrorless cameras with the X-E2 ($1,350, with 18-55mm lens)....
Easy access to full manual controls, Excellent IQ in Auto modes, Kit lens is topquality with excellent glass and solid build, 1.5X APSC XTrans sensor provides razorsharp images, EVF viewfinder gives you access to horizon level and histogram as well as 100
Expensive...but the Canon 70D, which has a slightly smaller sensor, is also in this price range, Best XFmount lenses not available yet (but coming soon), Tripod mount hole offcenter and QR plates will block access to the battery/memory card door, Dials ea

Classic camera appearance and layout makes you want to take pictures, Excellent JPEGs with good color, little need to use raw most of the time, Reliable metering and AWB systems, Impressive image quality at all ISO settings good resolution and low noise,
Disappointing movie quality, JPEGs appear to overprocess skin tones at high ISO, Interaction of ISO and DR modes potentially confusing, Qmenu prioritizes obscure settings at the expense of arguably more useful ones, Face Detection mode poorly integrated a
The X-E2 is a highly capable enthusiast-focused camera capable of producing excellent images. Direct control dials and plenty of customization make for an engaging shooting experience, and its output is impressive. Wi-Fi and in-camera Raw conversion make ...
Abstract: Both cameras -- old model and new -- feature mechanical Shutter Speed and Exposure Compensation dials, but the X-E2 increases the range to ±3 EV. The X-E2 also allows photographers to customize the settings of four different buttons on the top and back of...

It delivers great images and is still fun to shoot with, but the Fujifilm X-E2 isn't a no-brainer upgrade over the X-E1 and other cameras outfeature it.
Abstract: One of the most significant developments in digital photography has been the introduction of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras. By removing the mirror and optical viewfinder, manufacturers are able to make their cameras smaller, without compromising...
The new Fujifilm X-E2 offers more features, better handling and importantly faster performance than its predecessor, which we already loved, making it our favourite X-series camera and one of the best compact system cameras around. Fujifilm have clearly...
