  • The Chumby 8 packs photos, music, apps, and a new Web browser behind an affordable 8-inch touch screen
  • As a digital photo frame, it's overdone. As a pseudotablet, it's too slow. As an Internet radio alarm clock, it's too expensive
  • The Chumby 8 is the best and biggest Chumby yet, but tablet and smartphone owners may find its features redundant and its speed lacking....

  • Large touchscreen; 8inches, Relatively easy to use UI, Apps now accessible on the device itself,
  • Touchresistive as opposed to capacitive touchscreen, No battery power, Requires a set of external speakers

  • com (huzzah!), Reddit Headlines (ditto!), David Letterman's Top 10 and Chuck Norris Facts (thanks?)
  • 0 more expensive than it should be, even after its recent price drop. Bulky hardware. No internal battery. Dull screen. Setup was long and laborious and required entering a 31digit code online. Dearth of content: The only dating app is Craigslist personal

  • Simple, basic design belies Chumby's fun-loving image, Weak sound quality, Resistive display

  • Sleek and functional design, Good sound, 1,500 free apps
  • Resistive screen, Must use computer to add apps, Basic web browser
  • Chumby was a great idea when it first debuted, but with the rise of smartphones and tablets, Chumby seems dated. Not only is its app selection tiny, but the apps themselves are limited when compared to their Android and iOS counterparts. We also wish t...
