The editors liked
Incredibly polished device
Great all-purpose mobile camera
IOS 8 is fantastic
The exposure compensation control – a sun symbol on a thin line – is welcome. The integration of the new controls won't disturb the point and shooters but will delight the serious photographer. Video quality is superb and there is slow motion available.
Great design
Better battery
Improved keyboard
The iPhone 6 delivers a spacious
Crisp 4.7-inch screen
Improved wireless speeds
Better camera autofocus
And bumped-up storage capacities to 128GB at the top end. iOS remains a top-notch mobile operating system with an excellent ecosystem of apps
And
A bigger iPhone
Yay! Built beautifully
Almost like the iPod Touch as a phone
Reachability (double-tap home) is a neat idea for larger phones
Fast 4G speeds
Finally
802.11ac is here! Excellent rear camera
IOS 8 now lets you exchange and replace ke
Still great for one-handed use
The nicer looking of the new iPhones
Great camera
Vibrant display
Aesthetic
Simple software
Premium aluminium body
Proficient camera modes
Great performance
Improved screen size and vibrant display
Better fitness tracking tools
Improved camera
NFC capability (eventually)
The editors didn't like
Some specs aren't as high as they should be
Some features don't work in Australia yet
Expensive
Skin colour in bright sunlight is too ruddy
With a general tendency to oversaturate reds. RAW capture would be the icing on the cake
Still pricey
Screen too lowres
Battery life isn't much better than it is on last year's iPhone 5S. And there's wasted space
An even larger screen could have been squeezed into the same housing
Screen is larger
But not really a huge improvement
Fixed storage with no way of upgrading
Slippery
Hand-hold for thumb at the bottom is a bit of a balancing act with a phone this size
Abstract: With smartphones now commoditised, it has become increasingly difficult for manufacturers to differentiate on hardware alone. However, one area where smartphones still tend to vary wildly is in the quality of the camera. It also happens to be one of the m...
The Apple iPhone 6 is a pleasure to use. An iPhone with a larger screen works very well indeed, so much so that we wonder why the company didn't do it sooner. But the question is: has Apple done enough? In some respects, we'd say it has: battery life is ...

The iPhone 6 is larger, prettier, and better but it doesn't feel like a revolutionary device, as everyone would expect from a major iteration of an iPhone. The rumored semi-sapphire screen was supposed to be one of the major “attractions”, but something ...
Great performance, Improved screen size and vibrant display, Better fitness tracking tools, Improved camera, NFC capability (eventually)
Battery life could be better, No optical image stabilisation, Waiting on Apply Pay and NFC, Very highpriced, Other than size, still not a huge step forward from the iPhone 5s
The iPhone 6 is a great phone, and for Apple users coming out of contracts, or needing an upgrade, it's an easy step forward that offers better performance and all the things you already love about Apple. There's not a lot to find wrong with Apple's small...

The new iPhones' obvious difference is in screen size – bringing them into line with the competition. Bigger – at least to 11.7...
Abstract: This year isn't the first time that Apple has conceded that people want bigger iPhones. It's however the first time that Apple has abandoned its one-size-fits-all approach to smartphones, offering both the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the phablet-esque 5.5-inch ...
Apple's strict governance, Data- and battery-intensive
Apple's iPhone 6 has one of the best displays in a smartphone, enriched by its aesthetic iOS software and a proficient camera that is fun to use. It feels like a smartphone seven years in the making, now more-so than ever following a growth spurt and a su...

Abstract: Head to head to head, the smartphone contenders march into the Thunderdome to take on the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. Except, y'know, I don't really have a Thunderdome, or even Tina Turner's phone number.I do have quite a few large phones to compare, however, as...
