  • A terrific game that perfectly recaptures the spirit of Diablo and improves upon it in many ways

  • I think it’s really neat knowing your dog can shoot fireballs or your cat summoning skeletons. The actual gameplay: you basically accept various quests to progress the storyline and explore into many different places fighting monsters, gathering item...

  • Solid performance, good graphics, great music, good replay value, competent story, and outstanding game engine make this RPG as accessible as an arcade game. ESRB rating: Teen.
  • Lacks a coop multiplayer game mode. Critical item could not be accessed during testing.
  • Torchlight’s appeal is easy to grasp. Players can jump in and out with no need to find a save point--just launch Steam and pick up from exactly where you left off. Namely, battling evil while your dog trots back to town carrying 78 pounds of treasure....

  • Dungeon crawlers are a niche within the larger RPG genre and not surprisingly, appeal to a smaller audience. But Torchlight is a really good introduction for novice role playing gamers because it combines intuitive hack and slash combat with an obtrus...

  • Abstract:  8It’s not a new concept, but the execution is tight. Torchlight is a nice ride that echoes with memories of grand gaming times of the past, while using an updated style and graphic charm to keep it fresh and fun.

  • Gaming has become a big business in the past decade. Strangely enough, as big as the industry has become, the indie side of the business has actually been allowed to grow stronger than ever. When little startups like Runic can make such a well polishe...
