The editors liked
The sharpness of images taken at 600mm in difficult light is impressive. The focussing is fast enough to use it in tracking mode
At least on the Canon 5D MkII used for our test. Colour and contrast are very good. The image stabilisation works well enough
The editors didn't like
The long telescoping effect is the price you pay for a relatively inexpensive lens with exceptional reach

Nikon's 28mm F1.4E ED appears to roundly complete the company's updated lineup of fast, professional prime lenses. We've already seen some initial images from a Nikon ambassador, but we've worked through a gallery of our own, with a lens of our own over t...

Abstract: This is the second and final part of our comprehensive lens recommendations for the new entry-level Canon EOS Rebel T5 / 1200D. This time we've assessed zoom lenses from both the Canon and third party makers to see how well they perform on the camera, and...
welldone casing, excellent or very good image quality in the frame centre for all apertures and focal lengths, correct performance on the edge of the APSC/DX sensor, low chromatic aberration, no reservations concerning the spherical aberration correction,
weak performance against bright light, a bit too high vignetting level on full frame.
There is no need to beat about the bush – we liked the Tamron SP 150-600 mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD very much and we recommend it without scruples to anybody interested in such parameters. After such a test it would be difficult to bring in another verdict. The...
& SamplesBy Josh Fate Tamron's new ultra-zoom lens, the SP 150-600MM F/5-6.3 Di VC USD, is a large and powerful zoom lens for anyone that is looking to get up close and personal with their subjects. This large lens can be used with either Full-Frame o...

If Tamron built this lens to outperform the Sigma offering then they succeeded with full frame cameras. The gain in performance over their rival's offering is less noticeable on the APS-C cameras. Despite that, the image quality is a slight improvement ov...
Tamron has made a very good job of producing what must be an incredibly difficult lens to design and build. All lens design is a balance of one compromise against a host of others, but when dealing with a set of focal lengths such as this and trying to di...
Abstract: The Nikon SLR system is beloved by enthusiasts and serves as the workhorse for many professionals. And it's been around for decades, so there's no shortage of compatible lenses. When shopping for new glass today, you have access to hundreds of options fro...
The pros about this lens include the extent of reach, it's the only lens presently available with a reach of 600mm. The autofocus locking mechanism is amazing. The autofocus locks quickly in low light, even at 600mm of zoom. The focus limiter at 15mts is...
