The editors liked

  • Ambidextrous for left and right hands
  • High CPI sensitivity
  • Sensitive laser tracks well over different surfaces
  • High level of customisable
  • Teflon feet glide over any surface
  • Comfortable and well designed mouse that feels like a premium product
  • Silver exterior and multi-coloured LED are well implemented
  • Phenomenal performance. Industry-leading tweaking features. On-board profiles
  • And on-board profile editing. Ridiculously overpowered CPU. Silky-smooth gliding

The editors didn't like

  • No ergonomic or weight options
  • Eight buttons might be too few for some
  • Lacking number of macro keys
  • Only hotswaps between two (customisable) sensitivity settings
  • Grey/chrome plastic top has a cheap look about it
  • Only hot-swaps between two (customisable) sensitivity settings
  • Side buttons are not that useful or well placed
  • A few superfluous features that do not add to the experience
  • Confusing custom button assignment. Horrible
  • Inflexible macro creation and editing

  • Excellent customizability, Cool design, Very comfortable
  • Needs a wizard to help explain tweakable options, Pricey

  • Abstract:  Today SteelSeries announced availability on the new Sensei Pro Grade Laser Mouse. This is not your hardcore gaming mouse that will improve your K/D ratio in your favorite first-person shooter, but it is a slick little piece of PC gear that you might re...

  • Superb, customisable performance, Ambidextrous yet comfortable, Programmable without a PC, 3 individual LED zones in any colour, Excellent software
  • Not quite as comfy as some right-handed mice, Can accidentally press side buttons, No adjustable weights or grips, Some minor issues with software install
  • With the Sensei, SteelSeries has crafted a worthy successor to the excellent SteelSeries Xai. Although some might bemoan the lack of adjustable weights or grips, this mouse is very well balanced and about as comfortable as ambidextrous gaming mice get - a...
