The RIG produces decent sound for its price point and the control mixer adds a new level of smartphone control when gaming. The headphones are light and comfortable for longterm wear, chat quality is top notch and the flat cables really help keep tangles
Construction is kind of on the cheap and flimsy side. The volume sliders for switching between smartphone and gaming mode could be consistent. Audible distortion at higher volumes with the master volume ring
For $129, the RIG is worth it if you frequently talk to friends over the phone while gaming or appreciate listening to your own music while listening to the game. It may not have the audio fidelity as, say, a pair of Astros or Turtle Beach gaming head...

The Rig does everything you need from a quality headset other than Dolby. Build quality is wonderful and the headset can be abused without too much worry. The lack of a USB port and the excessive cabling are slightly disappointing, but for a first version...

In the end despite it's flaws the Plantronics RIG headset is still a good headset. It has good audio quality and a near solid set of features. It does have a very jack of all trades feeling to it and with this comes the master of none as well, because of...
Headset itself is well designed, Headset provides decent audio quality, Really useful to be able to mix in music and answer calls, USB controller is easy to use
May be too bassy for some, Mobile phone cable not included in box
The Plantronics Rig is a great headset that, because of its included USB amplifier, is a versatile one too, suitable at home and on the move. However, a few little grumbles mean it isn't quite a resounding success, though still well worth considering. Ne...
With a price of £69/$99 the RIG is hugely flexible in terms of features with a great price/performance ratio. The varied cable types allow us to use the headset in different environments and the mixer/pod allow us to be as connected as possible when gamin...
