Relatively fast operation, will decode all new audio formats, 1080p output, top quality picture and sound performance.
Does not output video at 24 frames per second, does not support recordable Blu-ray discs, no bitstream (digital) output of new audio formats.
Nevertheless, the Panasonic DMP-BD10A is a fine Blu-ray player that is also faster than most of the competition (16 seconds to fire up and open the tray, 35 seconds to start playing a BD).

Excellent picture quality on Blu-ray and DVD; DVD upconversion to 720p, 1080i, and 1080p; on-board decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution; HDMI output; DVD-Audio support; sleek design.
Bad remote; annoying front flip-down panel; somewhat slow load times.
If youre set on a standalone Blu-ray player, the Panasonic DMP-BD10A should definitely be on your short list.
Solid audio spec, including 7.1 onboard decoding of numerous surround formats. Plays more disc options than most rivals. Reasonably competitive performance
