The editors liked

  • Adds a new dimension to games (literally!)
  • Supports virtually all 3D games
  • Is simple and easy to set-up
  • The 3D effect looks great when it works properly

The editors didn't like

  • Expensive
  • Needs a compatible monitor
  • Mixed results with different games
  • Is expensive for how gimmicky it is
  • Turning up the depth in some games lowers their playability
  • It's currently only supported by two LCD computer monitors
  • Requires Windows Vista
  • It causes eyestrain after prolonged use

  • Technology to extract a three-dimensional image from a two-dimensional projection is by no means new, and it hasnt exactly had an easy time gaining widespread acceptance. NVIDIAs approach to rendering a stereoscopic 3D scene in real-time, however, i...

  • Talk about a blast from the past with a 2009 twist. Nvidia’s GeForce 3D Vision kit addresses a number of the issues that plagued active stereoscopic solutions a decade ago. Setup, to begin with, is much less complex. You install the software, connec...

  • NVIDIA packages their GeForce 3D Vision product in a very progressive wrapper. Quite frankly, I think that less is more, but these days a product needs every edge to garner a sell. The retail package clearly states the product requirements (namely, Win...
