The editors didn't like

  • The fingerprint reader is cool
  • But having to use it every time to unlock the screen gets old
  • AT&T's built in crap-ware is annoying
  • Though it can be removed. The Motoblur stuff can't be
  • Hardware
  • Screen is hard to see in sunlight
  • Touch-sensitive buttons
  • No word on Gingerbread update
  • No 1080p HD video recording or playback at launch. You can't install non-Market third-party apps. We didn't experience great HSPA+ 4G data speeds
  • Some software instability. Poor battery life. Battery heats up during use. Screen resolution isn't compatible with some apps

  • Adorable sleeve, not too bulky but still provides ample protection, reasonably priced
  • Flimsy red string
  • The Motorola Atrix is certainly a speed demon of a smartphone with a lot of things going for it – including the fact that it's offered us the fastest web surfing experience we've experienced on any smartphone to date. We also love its form-factor, mul...

  • The Atrix 4G is an interesting animal. It's a capable, if somewhat ordinary, Android smartphone that offers better-than-average specs (higher-res display, dual-core processor). Using the phone by itself is a speedy experience all around, and, if you don't mind Mo...

  • Abstract:  Saying that the Motorola Atrix is the best Android phone isn't a big deal; that throne gets usurped every few months. But even though the Atrix's accompanying laptop dock is slow and and expensive, the idea behind it is one of the first innovations in mob...

  • If there’s one thing the Motorola ATRIX 4G shows, it’s that there’s no shortage of innovation in the smartphone market. The Laptop Dock may be expensive – and Palm may have previewed the idea with the Folio, and Redfly even attempted to commercialize ...

  • The Atrix 4G might be our favorite Android device that we've tested. It's got specs that run laps around most other devices, which should make most potential purchasers feel a little safer about laying out cash for a smartphone right now. We're not saying...

  • Nice hardware design, fast dualcore processor, unique laptop dock available
  • Mediocre HD camera, disappointing photos, soso call quality, 3G data speeds on a "4G" device
  • The ATRIX 4G is not your typical high-end Android smartphone. It's the first phone in the United States to offer NVIDIA's dual-core Tegra 2 processor, and it can also plug into, and power, an optional laptop dock that provides a Linux environment, a f...
