Fantastic battery life
Clean take on Android
The Moto Z2 Play has a beautiful screen and all-day battery life. There's expandable storage
Lots of software tricks and even a headphone jack
The editors didn't like
Huge camera bump
Moto Mods aren't necessarily useful
Screen could be brighter
Average low light camera performance
Its best software feature doesn't always work. The phone feels wide and uncomfortable without a magnetic back cover
And not much better with covers that don't fit well. Last year's Z Play had much longer battery life
Abstract: Alright, alright, alright, it's time for our Moto Z2 Play review, now that I've had a cool couple of weeks to absorb a phone that is the follow-up to the sleeper of the year phone from 2016. You guys know I loved the original Moto Z Play, so this one I'v...

Motorola did a bang-up job with this phone. Almost every aspect of the hardware and software impresses and performs above the Z2 Play's affordable price point.Motorola gave the Z2 Play a strong metal chassis that's fully compatible with its roster of Moto...
The Moto Z2 Play is optimized very well, despite the midrange specs. Basic tasks won't cause a bit of lag, The battery life is above average, and it charges incredibly fast with Moto's premium charger, Motorola's version of Nougat is clean and efficient
While it's good compared to other phones, the Moto Z2 Play gets poorer battery life than last year's phone, I'm still not convinced that Moto Mods make sense, The same flat back and giant camera hump seen on other Z phones, thanks to the Moto Mod connecto
Motorola has yet to truly make the case that Moto Mods are a good idea. We were promised monthly mod releases, but that didn't happen. The Moto Mods we do have range from quirky and overpriced to mediocre. and overpriced. The first-gen Moto Z Play was a...
Solid metal build quality, Sleek design, Moto Mods enhance phone's functionality, MicroSD card slot, Water repellent nano-coating, Close to stock Android experience, Smooth performance, All-day battery life, Speedy fingerprint sensor
Pricier than the original Moto Z Play, Moto Mods are still expensive, Verizon version is preloaded with bloatware, Camera is sub-par, Display difficult to see outdoors
The Moto Z2 Play is another solid mid-range offering from Motorola that follows in the footsteps of its predecessor quite well, but with a $50 price increase and a smaller battery, it may not be as compelling of a purchase without investing in the Moto Mo...
Abstract: Last year's Moto Z Play was a smartphone with legendary battery life that didn't break the bank. So, for the sequel, Motorola decided to shrink the battery. and bump up the price. Because… capitalism?I was as irritated as anyone to see Motorola make t...
Attractive, thin design, Decent battery life, Motorola's Android UI tweaks work great, Largely satisfying camera, Modular hardware is an open door for new features
Display not bright enough, colors not accurate, Sound quality is not very satisfying, Recharge times should be faster, Performance not a huge upgrade over firstgen model, Moto Mods can add significant cost to ownership
The Moto Z2 Play is an important phone, if only because it's keeping the Moto Mods story going. It's incredible that the project has lasted as long as it has, and other manufacturers would have thrown in the towel long ago (just look at LG or Google), so...
No Bluetooth 5.0 support, Verizon Exclusive – at launch, will be available unlocked “later this summer”, No Dual Camera setup
If you need/want something that has incredible battery life – and don't want a physical keyboard that the BlackBerry KEYone provides – then this is probably your best option. The Moto Z2 Play does check a lot of the boxes on a list for a smartphone, which...
Expensive for the specs, especially for unlocked version, Just average battery life, Mediocre performance
The Moto Z2 Play is a pretty good phone, and the new home button and Android 7 are nice additions to what was already a slick design. The extra $150 to $200 you’ll spend on the Z2 Play versus the Moto G5 Plus is going toward the phone's modular capabiliti...
Incredible battery life, Support for Moto Mods, Sleek design
No standout feature apart from modularity, Camera image quality could be better, Photos by Raj Rout
The Moto Z2 Play is certainly not the most powerful handset you can buy for Rs 28,000 and yet, it manages to run butter smooth, offers exceptional battery life, a great display and a decent camera configuration as well. It's running the latest version of...
Abstract: The Moto Z Play impressed us last year for many reasons, and much of that had to do with its striking balance of a well-rounded feature set and affordable price point. Rather than waiting a full year for a proper refresh cycle, Motorola decided to take th...
