A fast processor
Plenty of storage
And a strong 20megapixel camera for the same oncontract price as a smaller premium phone.

The editors didn't like
Its size makes onehanded operation difficult
And call quality was muddier than on most Nokia phones. Limited voice dictation and voice assistance in the OS hobbles its usefulness as a phablet
Extremely large
Awkward to hold
Camera can be sluggish
Windows Phone UI needs work
Arguably too big
WP8 feels unoptimised
Lack of apps
Lack of video store
A little on the heavy side
Takes nanoSIM
So previous Windows Phone users will need to get a new SIM card
Bright, crisp screen; Spacious desktops; Powerful wellsupported camera; Long battery life
Lacking creativity; Bulky rectangular build; Windows Phone still limited
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is the latest in a long line of phablets, but the first from Nokia and the first to sport Windows Phone 8. It’s another gorgeous Lumia handset, although it’s large enough to trouble most pockets and is definitely more suited to bags. ...
Good design, crisp screen, smooth performance, excellent camera, plenty of storage, good battery life

Great high-definition screen; Attractive, sturdy design; Powerful processor; Good battery life; Decent camera
Enormous size won't be to everyone's taste; Windows Phone app store is still very poorly stocked
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has a gorgeous, high-definition screen, a powerful core, solid battery life and a good camera. It's monstrously big though, which won't suit everyone and there are very few apps to choose from in the Windows Phone store....

Excellent build, fantastic camera and options, beautiful screen, good battery life, Glance screen, Black OS will bring plenty more with it - including raw file capture from camera
Switching connections on and off is a pain, might be too big for some, could be missing a few apps you want
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has to be the best Windows Phone 8 handset on the market. It's certainly the best Lumia we've used to date. That's not just thanks to the reassuringly high quality build, but also thanks to the new Black OS. The OS version we'v...
Expandable storage with microSD card, most powerful Windows Phone device with quadcore processor, large Full HD screen, decent camera, good battery, Nokia software tweaks
Might be too big for some, Windows Phone app store still understocked
The Lumia really is a highly competent and thoughtfully designed phablet device. If photography skills are more important to you than sheer size and raw power, the Lumia 1020 is still the phone for you, but if you want the best all-round ...

This is certainly the biggest Lumia phone Nokia has ever made, but is it the best? With the latest Windows Phone OS and more power than ever before it's the best on paper. In the hand it's an impressive device too which, to us right now, appears to be t...

Abstract: This is not a criticism: Nokia has plenty of svelte models for customers who are happy with a smaller screen, and those who buy it will do so for the extra pixels. But it certainly isn't a device that will slip unobtrusively into a trouser pocket.Nokia...
Messy homescreen, Late to launch in some countries
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is an absolute beast of a phone that we suspect only the large-handed and generous pocketed will be able to live with day to day. Those who accept the challenge will find just about the most capable Windows Phone 8 device yet, with top...
