  • The size of a brick, its by far the smallest drive in our test. Energy Starcompliant power adapter. Simple Webbased admin. Cheap.
  • Does not work with Apples Time Machine. Power button smaller than a grain of rice. Drives arent serviceable. Lack of Web access is simply a dealkiller, though Iomega says its due shortly.

  • Large power supply; can pick up a non-mirrored 1TB Nas far cheaper
  • A simple, if fairly expensive, way to add 1TB of secure network storage for backups ...

  • Abstract:  Reviewing a NAS is probably not at the top of my list of things to do, but the Iomega ix2 is a dead simple network storage solution that works well. The model I reviewed is the 2TB variety and I finally caved and started backing up my files. Even thoug...

  • Small form factor; easy to install and manage; built-in RAID and encryption
  • So-so write performance; cheesy status indicators; drives not user-accessible

  • Abstract:  The acquisition of Iomega by EMC holds promise of new, innovative storage solutions. With Iomegas status as a leader in the consumer and SOHO storage space, and EMCs entrenchment in storage for the enterprise, the latest offering from Iomega combines...

  • Abstract:  Backup isn’t generally seen as glamorous, and the Iomega StorCenter ix2 is unlikely to change that perception. A sober gray box, the ix2 is as compact as dual 3.5-inch SATA-II hard-drives will let it be. However inside there lurks an iTunes-compatible ...
