The editors liked

  • 24Mp XTrans CMOS III
  • Traditional exposure controls
  • New minijoystick controller
  • The image quality is excellent even at high ISO speeds. The outstanding quality of Fujifilm lenses is almost enough to justify the purchase of the camera. The classic aperture ring/shutter speed knob selectors is how it should be done.

The editors didn't like

  • Rear screen fixed rather than tilting or articulating
  • Low battery life in High Performance mode
  • Limited appeal for videographers
  • The camera is unnecessarily large and heavy. It is heavier than the XT1 which has the same size (lower resolution) APS sensor. And placing the viewfinder at the extreme left of the body makes for awkward handling. And the LCD doesn't swivel. In 2016?

  • Abstract:  I've been looking forward to the X-Pro2, Fujifilm's flagship mirrorless camera, ever since switching over to the X Series 18 months ago. To understand why, you need to know a little about me. I've only really been taking cameras seriously for seven years...

  • Incomparable viewfinder, Awesome focus joystick, Excellent image quality and performance
  • Fiddly ISO dial, Smaller EVF than X-T1, No tilt-screen
  • More times than not, the Verge score is based on the average of the subscores below. However, since this is a non-weighted average, we reserve the right to tweak the overall score if we feel it doesn't reflect our overall assessment and price of the produ...

  • The X-Pro2 is a 24MP high-end X-mount camera whose appeal is inextricably linked to its innovative optical/electronic hybrid viewfinder. It offers excellent image quality and some of the best out-of-camera JPEGs on the market, and comes in a well built, e...

  • It may look outwardly very similar to its 4-year-old predecessor, but the new X-Pro2 represents a big step forward in almost every area for Fujifilm's X-series camera range - we'd definitely expect to see virtually all of the X-Pro2's new features on any...
