The editors liked
Compact size
Textured back
MicroSD card slot
Bright screen; tough exterior; expandable storage; reasonable battery life
The tiny Dell Venue 8 Pro has a premium look and feel for such an inexpensive system
Offers good stylus support
And runs full Windows 8 in something about the size of an iPad Mini
The editors didn't like
No Micro-HDMI
A little sluggish at times
Some noticeable backlight bleeding
Sluggish performance; not much storage space; poor speakers; middling screen resolution
A misplaced Windows button throws off the usability
And the 32GB of SSD storage won't hold much. A promised keyboard accessory isn't available yet

The Dell Venue 8 is a nifty little Windows 8.1 tablet device that can fit into the palm of your hand thanks to its 8in screen and thin body. It's a decent performer for most tasks, but can struggle a little with CPU-intensive Web streaming...
Abstract: Lisa Gade compares three 8″ Windows 8.1 tablets, the Dell Venue 8 Pro, Lenovo Miix 2 8 and the Toshiba Encore. All run on a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Bay Trail quad core CPU with 2 gigs of RAM and 32 or 64 gigs of storage. They ship with Windows 8.1 32 bit, and ...
Abstract: All of this comes in a package that's thin and light enough to be mistaken for an Android tablet but in reality, the Dell Venue 8 Pro can do so much more than any Android device out there right now. With the ability to run most Windows desktop apps as wel...

Great build quality, Generally good performance, Ample storage, Expandable, Reasonably priced
Gets a little warm under load, Windows 8 apps don't match up to iOS and Android counterparts
Very sleek design. Windows 8.1 with no restrictions. Excellent price
Does not have hardware for highend tasks. Absence of keyboard limits options. No USB port
The Desktop mode might hold it back to an extent but even with that qualification, there's no doubting that the Dell Venue 8 Pro is perhaps the most portable and best performing Windows 8 tablet that we have used.Rs 26,499...

sleek and crisp display, Intel Silvermont chipset, long battery life
Average cameras, not conducive for Windows 8.1 platform, limited storage
An 8 inch tablet for Windows platform looks clumsy and cluttered besides that Venue 8 Pro is a good value-for-money device with long battery assistance, dongle support and well built body....
Bright and clear display with excellent viewing angles, Good build quality with a soft touch rubberized back – Better grip plus one handed usage, Intel Atom Z3740D is super fast, Long lasting Battery Life, Great Audio and Video performance, Synaptics digi
Windows 8.1 needs more consistency, x86 apps and environment useless on a touch screen, No HDMI out for easy mirroring, Store lacks big name apps and games, some of the current apps are poor, Low pixel density,
The Dell Venue 8 Pro not only stands tall among the latest range of mini Windows tablets, it pretty much rivals the iPad mini too, which comes at the same price for a similarly spec’d version. It also provides better value for the higher price it comma...
