The editors liked

  • Small yet meaningful tweaks like the Advanced Locator make the game much more fun to play
  • The evolution of Issac Clarke as a character is nicely handled
  • The action still fits into the trademark Dead Space mould

The editors didn't like

  • There's a noticeable lack of major moments
  • The boss fights are fairly weak
  • There isn't enough in the way of meaningful plot developments or answers to major questions

  • Fantastic cut scenes, scarefest, gorgeous graphics, cutting off limbs never gets old!
  • Multiplayer is a let down.

  • Abstract:  I’m slightly embarrassed to admit this but...after nervously sitting through Dead Space’s 2 powerful opening cinematic – where an Infector sneaks up behind Franko (from Dead Space Ignition) and plunges its sharp talon right through the centre of his f...

  • Abstract:  Published February 16th 2011. Written by Andi Hamilton. The opening fifteen minutes of Resident Evil 4 will forever be part of videogaming legend; encountering the Ganados, the long walk to the village, and the sudden siege of villagers coming at you i...

  • It would be foolish to criticise any game on what could’ve been however, and Dead Space 2 is a very impressive, and gorgeous, survival horror. While it does border on third-person shooter more often than we would prefer – especially towards its end and...

  • Wellrealized, constant intensity, A bigger and better plot than the original, Dismembering the crap out of Necromorphs
  • Some brutal difficulty spikes, Occasionally repetitive, Doesn't build enough on the first game

  • Scary atmosphere, this game will make you jump!
  • A forgettable multiplayer mode
  • Dead Space 2 is brilliant. It’s only January, but already we’re sure that this is easily one of the best games you’ll play this year. It’s as much an action game as it is a journey into a virtual horror movie. The slicker controls, outstanding visuals...

  • Better gameplay, more action, Isaac talks, great visuals and sound.
  • Not much story progression, not enough boss fights, some generic levels.

  • Dead Space 2 takes the fear factor of its predecessor and more than doubles it. The game plays perfectly for a survival horror shooter, even able to teach segment heavyweights such as Resident Evil a thing or two. With no lack of sheer terror, some aw...

  • Violent and highly satisfying gameplay, Insanely immersive, Never resorts to cheap scares, Multiplayer is an added bonus
  • If you didn't like the first game, this one will not change your mind.
  • Visually, Dead Space 2 is stunning. It's still a very dark game but you can make out Visceral upped the visuals significantly. Blood and gore are still a very integral part of this franchise and this game features more blood and guts than pretty much a...
