  • Attractive Heatsink, Overclocks quite well at stock timings (88824), Is stable at 1520mhz with tighter timings (77720 – results may vary), First on the market to include a builtin temperature probe
  • Won’t overclock past 1820mhz (is that a con with 1600mhz ram?)
  • Crucial is yet again breaking the norm – in this instance by including a temperature probe on the dimms PCBs themselves. However, whilst these dimms are clearly aimed at enthustiasts/overclockers, disappointingly I couldn’t get these dimms past 1800mhz...

  • Decent price, Thermal monitoring built in
  • High voltage requirement to run at stock speed, Limited overclocking potential
  • Crucial's Ballistix range of high performance DDR3 memory modules are well known amongst the overclocking fraternity offering faster clock speeds and lower latencies and in some instances fancy LED displays, than the standard Crucial product range. The...

  • looking effective heat spreaders, Innovative temperature monitoring, Decent overclocking, despite not being optimised for AMD CPUs, Crucial's excellent customer support, Lifetime warranty.
  • Possible height compatibility issues with larger coolers.
  • At the time of writing this review, this kit isn't yet available to buy, it should be released in the next week or so. and is set to retail at around £119 on Crucial's on-line store. That puts it about £2 more than the low profile 4GB Ballistix kit an...

  • Decent stock speed performance, Comes with the Crucial limited lifetime warranty, Looks good.
  • I couldn’t get it to over clock past 220FSB.
  • The Crucial Ballistix 2x 1GB 1600Mhz kit is decent enough but I felt it lacked a little on the overclocking front. I know it’s only “rated” at DDR1600 but I was hoping for a little more than 1760Mhz due to the Ballistix reputation, 1800M...

  • Although DDR3 RAM is not popular, mainly because of the high street prices, the Crucial Ballistix PC3-12800 DDR-3 kit is certainly worthy of consideration if you are shopping for a DDR-3 system. It is a very fast DDR-3 set which can also withstand wor...

  • DDR3 is still in its infancy. Just as DDR2 was insanely expensive when it was a young technology; so we can expect to pay top dollar for these new kits for a while to come. However, if you look past the cost, with the Ballistix 12800 from Crucial, yo...

  • This set of Crucial Ballistix memory modules, rated at DDR3-1600 running at 8-8-8-24 with 1.65v, is on par with the other memory modules we put it up against. The thing that makes this set stand out is the introduction of the integrated thermal sensor...
