  • Abstract:  While manufacturers have announced larger capacity SSDs (2TB and more), for storing a lot of files, a mechanical HDD is still a much more affordable option. This looks set to change in the future though, as SSD production volume increases lead to lower pr...

  • Affordable, Good allround performance, Acronis True HD is a nice bonus
  • Doesn't quite beat the topend SSDs on the market, No 1TB version available, SSD lifespan good, but again, not the best around
  • We liked The Crucial MX100 is brilliant value for money, with a lower RRP than the majority of other SSDs. It's fast in all tests we ran on it, and it has every feature you might want. The drive endurance may not be market-leading, but it's far from poor....

  • Blistering read speeds, Excellent value for money,
  • Slower write speeds than other SSDs,
  • The Crucial MX100 is fantastic for an entry level solid state drive. It's not quite as fast as some drives, but if you're upgrading from a standard hard drive, the MX100 will provide you with a massive leap in performance at a more than reasonable price....

  • Crucial's MX100 gives you the lion's share of the responsiveness and transfer rate improvements of the best SSDs on the market, with only a small sting of the accompanying price tag. Even with the higher overall price per gigabyte of SSDs versus tradition...

  • There are times when we go overboard on the technology, and the performance benchmarks. When it comes to the MX100 512GB, I don't think the benchmarks are as important as some of the other key factors. On the technology side, I don't think many users rea...

  • The Crucial MX100 256GB isn't going to win any awards based on performance alone, but this drive brings more to the table than just raw speed. Compared to a mechanical disk drive, the MX100 is significantly faster and for its target market, that's what i...

  • Crucial offer this as a low cost but high performance and packed feature set SSD and we would agree. The price in the UK of the MX100 256Gb at the time of publication is as low as £80, putting it in amongst the 240Gb class for price. With Christmas on...

  • Well Priced, High Quality Components, Excellent Read and Write Speeds
  • The Crucial MX100 feels very much like the M550 that came before it. It also shares the M550's odd upside down design. What seems to be the top of the drive is actually the bottom The MX100 is a wonderful drive though and has the excellent finish and soli...
