  • The Canon PowerShot SX600 HS delivers easy automatic shooting options, very good photo and video quality, and a useful zoom range with optical image stabilization in a slim, lightweight package and at a reasonable price
  • The lens is slow, so indoor use of the zoom lens is limited, the autofocus can be frustratingly inaccurate at times, and low-light photo and video quality are merely OK
  • Though there's nothing extraordinary about it, the SX600 HS is a solid choice for snapshooters wanting a simple step up from a smartphone without sacrificing on-the-go sharing....

  • Compact, pocket-friendly body, 18x optical zoom, Easy to operate
  • Mediocre, noisy images, No advanced shooting modes, Slow lens zoom
  • For $50 more than the ELPH 340 HS, you can get a similar camera with an increased zoom. However, that camera failed to impress us as much as its predecessor, the ELPH 330 HS. So, even though it may have a better lens, for us the SX600 feels nearly ident...

  • The 18x optical zoom, WiFi/NFC connectivity and automovie mode are all welcome inclusions on a camera at this price.
  • The camera is capable of producing some great shots, but does get caught out every once in a while
  • As an overall package, the SX600 HS is an appealing option for the casual photographer off on a trip, but you might struggle to get optimum photos in certain conditions....

  • 18x optical zoom, Wi, Fi / NFC, Creative Filters
  • No touchscreen, Lack of control in Creative mode, Macro focusing sometimes disappointing
  • If you're looking for a reliable camera with a decent zoom range that's capable of producing good quality images – without too much input from you – this is a good option. If you want something with manual control, take a look at the Canon SX700 HS, whic...

  • Build quality, Easy to use, userfriendly controls and handling, Good general responsiveness, WiFi and NFC, Can be controlled via a smartphone, Updated Creative Shot mode is a nice feature
  • Connection over WiFi can be longwinded (unless you use NFC), Picture quality is OK but nothing more, No touchscreen, screen resolution could be higher, Videos look dull

  • Compact body, 18x optical zoom, Warm, natural colour reproduction
  • Average low-light performance, Small buttons
  • Priced at Rs. 15,995 (with a slightly lower street price), the Canon PowerShot SX600 HS makes up for the loss of ruggedness with a compact design and long zoom lens. We think it is a great digital camera. If the requirement is a rugged camera we suggest ta...
