  • Abstract:  The Canon Powershot SD430 is simply a slightly larger Canon Powershot SD400 with WiFi, so all our comments on the SD400 apply here. This camera compares well in the ultra-compact category, although there are many better and cheaper models available, W...

  • Excellent image quality, Very functional wireless capability with Canon printers and Windows XP SP2, Reliable metering, Up to 15 second long exposures, Very compact and wellfinished
  • Builtin flash lacks power, Some noise as of 100 ISO with flash photography, Icons on 4direction controllers surface too difficult to see
  • WiFi is the keyword for the Canon PowerShot SD430, also Digital IXUS Wireless in Europe, a palm-size 5-megapixel compact with a 3X optical zoom that can print wirelessly to a Canon PictBridge compliant printer, or transfer images to a wireless capable ...

  • Good image quality; good zoom range; compact size.
  • Poor battery life; zoom and focus mechanisms are noisy; expensive.
  • The Canon SD430 is attractively styled, and has good image quality and zoom range. But considering its poor battery life and noisy operation, its price isn’t entirely justified.

  • Very good picture quality. Speedy performance.
  • Should include more ease-of-use features that help with connecting and troubleshooting wireless. Expensive for a 5MP camera.
  • If you want a wireless point-and-shoot and youre more interested in picture quality and performance than in ease of use and slide-show effects, the SD430 could be just what you need....

  • Abstract:  A few weeks ago I reviewed the Nikon CoolPix P1, a sleek eight megapixel compact featuring WiFi connectivity. It's often the case that a new idea will appear almost simultaneously from several different sources, so it's no surprise that Nikon isn't the on...
