The Canon PowerShot G7 X delivers excellent photo quality for its class
Along with a fine lens and relatively streamlined shooting design
Compact size
Manual features
Good overall image quality
The editors didn't like
No viewfinder
Fixed screen rather than tilting/variangle
F/1.8 aperture only at the widest focal length
Mediocre manual focusing
No hotshoe for external accessories
Video quality is middling
Images are surprisingly soft at the 100mm end of the zoom range. Even at f11 in bright sunlight the edges lack sharpness. And there is a tendency to over saturation of bright colours. Focus is a tad sluggish. Video quality is just OK
Its performance and connectivity implemenation don't impress

Poor battery life, Slow continuous shooting and shot-to-shot speeds with Raw images, Focusing can be inconsistent, Manual focus has low quality preview, limited magnification, and requires a lot of dial-spinning, No 24p video option, Menu operation can be
With a time-tested 1" BSI-CMOS sensor and an impressive 24-100mm F1.8-2.8 lens, the PowerShot G7 X produces excellent quality photos. Although the ergonomics won't suit everyone and battery life isn't as good as some competitors, the G7X is well suited to...
The PowerShot G7 X is a superb little camera aimed at serious photographers. With a large 1in sensor, a fast all-purpose zoom lens, a touch & tilt 3in LCD, and Wi-Fi and NFC built in, it's a powerful bit of kit considering its small size. Advanced feature...
