The editors liked

  • Print colours are rich
  • Deep and luminous. Detail resolution is superb
  • Particularly the rendering of subtle fine detail in shadows and highlights. Print speed is good and the printer is surprisingly quiet.

The editors didn't like

  • We are expected to pay $25 per cartridge for inks while Americans pay $17. Please explain
  • As the lady used to say

  • Outstanding print quality with pigment inks, Bundled Print Studio Pro software's Pro Mode makes expert color management easier than ever, Wi-Fi, ethernet, and USB connectivity
  • Initial software installation process can be confusing, Print Studio Pro printing app doesn't work with Aperture
  • The choice is not an easy one. The Pixma Pro-10 costs more than the Pixma Pro-100 initially, and will continue to cost more with each print you make. And in most of my test prints, I found it hard to tell the difference between the Pro-10's prints and the...

  • Moderately priced for a near-dedicated photo printer. Outputs gallery-worthy photos. Reasonably fast.
  • Some color issues, mostly in graphics
  • The Canon Pixma PRO-100 may be at the low end of near-dedicated photo printers geared to photo enthusiasts, but it still produces photos worthy of hanging in a gallery....

  • Abstract:  The Canon PIXMA PRO-100 is not the successor to the Canon PIXMA 9000 MK2, but it does supplement the Canon printer program. This makes for a very comprehensive A3 printer program of Canon with which you can choose between printers that use dye ink and pig...

  • With the Pro-100, Canon has expanded its Pro printer lineup by cross-breeding the Pro-1 and the Pro9000 Mark II. From the Pro-1 we get the improved media handling and CD/DVD printing as well as a three-ink black and white printing option, although not...

  • Print size up to 13x19, Excellent output quality, Black inks generate excellent monochrome prints
  • Large and heavy, Slower print times
  • In general, stepping up from a home/consumer photo printer to one that is capable of doing justice to true photography is a large and expensive leap. The paradox is, while the Pro-100 is considerably more expensive than a consumer model, it's actually a...
