  • Accurate colors, Solid image quality, Generally fast performance, Long battery life
  • Poor sound in movie recording, Stumbles in harshly backlit situations
  • This midrange DSLR shoots full HD video and delivers some of the best colors you’ll find.

  • The Canon Rebel T1i is an excellent choice for a mid-range digital SLR. With its picture settings and the auto settings, the Rebel is suitable for a first-time SLR user. Given an adequate time investment, a beginner could use this camera on his first d...

  • Creative Auto mode provides intuitive tools for newbies. Though there's no full autofocus for video, you can refocus manually while shooting. Offers some advanced image controls for video.
  • Pronounced orange hue in most photos, especially indoor shots. Reds look weak. Outdoor pics usually come out overexposed. 3inch LCD doesn't swivel, so you have to hold the camera in front of your nose while filming.

  • The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is a solid DSLR with the added benefit of HD video recording. The camera's layout and controls were easy to use, and we were generally very pleased with the images taken with the Rebel T1i. The Rebel T1i's touted 1080p vide...

  • Abstract:  Images look good overall, although the T1i has a few weaknesses. We shot clean colors in many different lighting conditions, but the auto settings look more muted than higher-priced cameras. While bright daylight can wash out the hues..

  • The image quality the Rebel T1i offers with its 14-bit RAW capture, Digic 4 processing, and accurate 35-zone metering is astonishing given its price. Just a few years ago, you couldn’t hope to get talent like this for under $1,000. In all, an amazin...

  • Abstract:  The EOS 500D is the latest addition to Canon’s entry-level SLR lineup and sits on top of the 450D but below the mid-range 50D SLR. The camera is also designed to compete against Nikon’s D5000. In terms of look and design the 500D is similar to the 450D...
