The editors liked
24Mp Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor
110 JPEGs or 25 raw file bursts
New AF systems
This is a Canon
So still photos are fine
Both JPEG and RAW and high ISO performance is outstanding. It is the video that is a revelation. Simply touch the critical feature of the subject on the touch screen and the camera will track that spot flawlessly
The Canon EOS 80D is fast
And if you play with the settings can produce excellent photo and video quality
Great image quality
Solidly built
Easy to use
The editors didn't like
No increase in maximum frame rate (but it is 7fps)
Simple vertical tilting screens work better than fully articulated
The automatic white balance isn't very good
And it doesn't have a terribly broad set of features
Great color reproduction, Highest usable dynamic range of all Canon APSC cameras, Extremely fast auto focus, both for video and for photography, Headphone connection for video, Nice menu
ISO range is limited, Limited video options: no slow motion, 4K, focus peaking or clean video output, Dynamic range does not yet match that of competitors

Great ergonomics, Excellent AF tracking in Live View mode, Comfortable to hold for a while, Nice menus,
More versatile RAW files with less image noise would've made this camera have an Editor's Choice rating, AF in low light could be better, The Canon 80D is a pretty great camera in the hands of a skilled photo editor. At the same time, it can be a great ca
The Canon EOS 80D builds on the big leap forward that its predecessor made principally by adding continuous autofocusing for live view stills shooting and upgrading the image sensor and focusing/metering systems. So although it looks outwardly very simil...

Am I going to add a Canon EOS 80D to my gear bag? It's tempting. The combination of 24 megapixels and 45 AF focus points are a major improvement over my EOS 60D's 18 megapixels and nine (count 'em) focusing points. And while the 80D lacks the overall ease...
Abstract: These days, many (if not most) consumers are likely to shop based on price and capability, rather than according to whether a certain model contains a mirror, or not. We think this is a good thing; with all the increased competition, cameras are improving...
