Abstract: Out of the Box I was extremely excited to get my hands on the ARCHOS TV+ after getting the demo at CES. All of the promised features, gobs of storage, and low starting price had me really stoked to give it a go. I’ll note there that during the...
Built-in DVR. Streams video and audio from PCs. Copies files to and from other devices via USB. Remote has several options. HDMI-out, several connection choices. Internet browser.
Needs software plug-ins for decent file support. User interface is slow, ugly. Limited offerings, poor integration from Content Portal. Occasional aspect ratio issues. No HD support yet.
The TV+ highlights both the best Archos has to offer (an excellent DVR, quality wireless streaming) and the worst (an outdated user interface, so-so file support). Its certainly an innovative device, but its limitations are frustrating....
Abstract: Having used this good-looking box, youre left wondering why the normally sure-footed Archos has made the design and marketing errors it has with the TV+. The plug-ins should have been plugged in, the infra-red emitter on the front is daft and for £25...

Abstract: Watch with bother. A good media streamer, but fiddly TV recording and a high price count against it. Most of us have hundreds of music and video files stored on our PCs. The problem is that most PCs are stuck in studies or bedrooms, and not in the li...
Limited out of the box functionality, Ineffectual IR zapper, Standard definition only, User-unfriendly, Keypad remote
The French manufacturer makes a sensible start with the Archos TV+ by mimicking the sleek design of the Apple TV and many of the features that it offers. Content can be wirelessly streamed from your PC so that JPEGs, MP3s and DiVX can be accessed on yo...
Archos TV+ probably would have been something to shout about a couple of years ago, but its lack of HD support, absent digital TV tuner and poor video format support mean its outclassed by the competition. Add on the fact that the plug-ins will cost...
