  • The third-generation Apple iPod Shuffle is as light as a feather and as small as a paper clip, and it includes VoiceOver cues, and improved support for podcasts and audiobooks.
  • You need to operate the Shuffle using a pill-size remote control on your headphones, battery life isnt great, features are few, and the design is a bit boring.
  • The third-generation iPod Shuffle is the next best thing to an invisible MP3 player, but the quirky controls and microscopic design make it a limited recommendation.

  • Abstract:  In these days of economic distress, it’s nice when technology companies add innovative features to the products at the bottom of their price ranges. So it’s notable that Apple’s cheapest iPod, the oft-forgotten Shuffle model, is getting smarter. In fac...

  • Abstract:  Zero buttons. That's as minimalist as it gets. Removing all buttons—or to clarify, moving them to the headset—shrinks down the size of the new iPod Shuffle dramatically, but it also creates control problems when running, snowboarding or do...

  • Abstract:  This past September saw a slight bump in the razor-thin feature set of the iPod shuffle, but no change in its equally lithe form -- which might be a good thing. The way Apple's going, the next shuffle will likely be a circuit board printed on a grain of r...

  • Abstract:  When you first lay eyes on the iPod shuffle, you are going to be in total disbelief. The aluminum encased hardware is about the size of a child's pinky, and there is not a button, knob or screen to be found anywhere on the device. There is a headphone jac...

  • Minuscule proportions. Clever "talking" interface
  • Average sound. Poor, nowirreplaceable, headphones
  • Undeniably sexy for something so small, but having to use Apple's dedicated earbuds knocks this down a peg or two.The runt of the Apple litter has learnt a new trick: the third generation Shuffle can talk! But can it walk the iPod walk? In two words&h...

  • Abstract:  The latest version of the iPod shuffle is notable for two things: it now comes in five colours - silver, black, pink, blue and green - and the headphone remote is now available in earphones from third-party manufacturers, which means that you no longer...

  • The limited choice of headphones is a nuisance, but the main aim of the iPod Shuffle is to provide an affordable and ultra-lightweight music player – and on that score it still succeeds admirably. The iPod nano is the mainstream model for Christmas...
