The editors liked

  • Powerful audio output
  • Optical zoom on a smartphone
  • Water resistant
  • Faster and better graphics performance
  • Better camera
  • Water resistant design
  • IOS 10 preloaded
  • Excellent speakers
  • Redesigned home button
  • The iPhone is an almost universal standard
  • Very good performance overall
  • A pleasure to use
  • Good fingerprint recognition
  • Good battery life
  • Optical zoom on camera
  • Dual rear cameras delivers true 2x optical zoom
  • With a cool bokeh Portrait mode. Battery lasts longer than last year's model
  • And longer than iPhone 7. Water resistant. Fast. Bigger storage options include 256GB model for serious photographers

The editors didn't like

  • Similar design
  • No headphone jack
  • Same design
  • Can't plug in Lightning headphones and charge at the same time
  • No induction charging
  • Fairly expensive
  • Entry level memory a bit limited given it can't be upgraded
  • There's no standard headphone jack
  • You'll have to use Lightning
  • Or the included adapter
  • Or go wireless. Design is showing its age
  • As competing phones squeeze a 5.5-inch screen into smaller
  • Sexier bodies. And it's really expensive

  • Abstract:  'Tis the season! Or rather, 'Twas the season, because the end of 2017 flew by us while we were putting the final touches on this buyer's guide. So, we are clearly a bit tardy for a holiday shopping guide but that was more or less intentional on our part...

  • A flagship killer's been apprehended, it appears. OnePlus dropped the moniker for the 5, but it has stuck in the minds of fans and the press alike, only it doesn't hold true as much as it used to.The thing is, earlier OnePlus phones could get away with om...

  • Back to our original point, it's really tough to fairly compare the HTC U11, the iPhone 7 Plus and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium cameras on a level playing field. They are just too different in terms of both hardware and additional features and thus suited f...

  • Dual "zoom" cameras, Faster processor, Brighter screen, Front-facing dual speakers
  • Many of the "groundbreaking" features have been on Android phones for a while, Relatively low resolution for a 5,5-inch display, No headphone jack
  • The iPhone 7 Plus, with its new dual cameras, gives Apple fans a reason to pick the big phone...

  • Great performance, Dual camera, Excellent battery life, Improved cameras, iOS 10, timely updates
  • Low light camera performance not best in class, Expensive, Ungainly
  • It might sound strange to say this when talking about the most valuable company in the world, but Apple doesn't always get the credit it deserves for its engineering efforts. The A10 Fusion chip inside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is a prime example of...

  • Built to the usual skyhigh standards, The main camera offers the same great levels of detail, superb processing and classleading dynamic range of its predecessor and is better in low light, Performancewise, the A10powered iPhone 7 Plus is the most powerfu
  • No 3.5mm audio jack, No microSD slot, NFC functionality limited to Apple Pay, Scratchprone Jet Black model, Last year's snapon cases won't fit the iPhone 7 Plus due to the different camera module footprint
  • Apple made sure it has put enough novelties to make the iPhone an attractive purchase and a worthy upgrade. The lines of people and the depleted stock prove that. People are buying the Plus model, lots of people are opting for the new iPhone upgrade progr...
