  • Abstract:  The original Sonata was one of the first chassis to address the issue of noise. Besides a fascia overhaul, the third iteration isn’t vastly different, adding HD audio and eSATA outputs to the front, as well tweaks to the internal airflow.Otherwi...

  • There is no mistake that ANTEC made only slight changes to the Sonata III, but the tweaks here and there were definitely improvements. In my opinion, they improved the overall look of the case with a freshened front bezel. The “why fix it when it’s n...

  • Abstract:  Video Review: Generally, cases with a power supply are intended for the budget market. I believe Antec had this in mind with the Antec Sonata III Case. This product is mostly steel with a stylish plastic front bezel. There are 3x5.25", 2x3.5" (ext), and 4x3.5" (int) drive bays. Conveniently located at the front are 2 USB2 ports, eSATA port, a microphone jack and headphone jack. There is one included Antec Tricoool 120mm fan at the back and an optional 120mm fan can be installed at the front. Overall, this is a great case and they include an excellent high efficiency 500W power supply. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.

  • Abstract:  Sonata III 500 is a mainstream high-quality mid-tower case from Antec, coming with a 500 W power supply (Antec EarthWatts 500), a three-speed 120-mm fan on the rear and a very beautiful black finishing. Let’s take a look on this case from Antec.clic...

  • Sleek outlooks, Build quality
  • Wrong screws, Noisy fan at full speed, HDD cooling
  • Even though the third coming of Sonata doesnt provide any significant new features, its still a decent case. The outlooks have become even more stylish than before and everything has a quality touch to it. The only problems with the installation of ...

  • For a third generation case, I would have expected just a little bit more in the way of convenience in this new world of tool-less installation. One other minor gripe is that only one 120mm fan is included with the . There is plenty of room to add...

  • Quiet, lives up to the Sonata name, Front eSATA port, Decent power supply included, 120mm TriCool fan,
  • Finish still attracts fingerprints, Not a tool-less installation, Chassis hasnt been updated at all, No front Firewire port, Feet are glued on, Power and hard drive LEDs are the same color with no label to differentiate the two
  • Testing was conducted with the TriCool fan at its low, medium, and high settings. The system the case was tested with had the following specifications: CPU: Intel e6300 Motherboard: Asus P5N-E SLI Memory: 2GB Kingston HyperX Video: eVGA 7800GT Sound:...

  • Elegant Sonata design, Simple Installation, Quiet, Includes EarthWatts 500 Watt PSU that is 80% Energy efficient, Well constructed, Front panel includes Mic/Headphone Jacks, USB, & eSATA, Adjustable setting 120mm TriCool Fans, AQ3 Warranty
  • No Firewire connector on front bezel, Fan controller not on outside of case, PSU may not be strong enough for systems running SLI with the GeForce 8000 series.
  • The Antec Sonata III is a worthy successor to the Sonata brand name. It is a beautiful case, which is well designed. Having an eSATA connector on the front is a welcome addition. The addition of the energy efficient EarthWatts PSU, makes this case a b...
