  • The Acer Iconia Tab A700 aims to impress with a 10.1in screen that has a resolution of 1920x1200, significantly higher than most other Android tablets on the market. Fingers crossed we see it in Australia soon...

  • Probably a pass. What the A700 gained in screen quality it seems to have lost in performance, keeping it right at the three star ranking. At $US450, it's certainly not the worst deal out there, but the Nexus 7 is only $250 in Australia — and buttery smoot...

  • The Acer Iconia Tab A700 overreaches with its high-res screen and is ultimately outclassed by tablets that offer better experiences for the money....

  • The great looking display makes the Iconia A700 a tempting tablet, but performance issues take away from the overall value. As a tablet primarily used to watch movies and TV shows with general use thrown in it is an ok tablet, but is tough to recommend giv...

  • High resolution panel looks good and is on its way to become a musthave on new generation tablets. Great battery life. Android 4.0 (sort of, see below).
  • Sluggish performance. The A700 may be in desperate need of an upgrade to Jelly Bean to correct some of its performance ackwardness. Hardware feels subpar for a premiumpriced tablet. Software customizations not all that useful.
  • The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is an appropriate upgrade to Acer's earlier efforts, but it doesn't really go far enough to make it a viable choice for new tablet buyers. Its sluggish performance and cheap feel make it hard to recommend against the Asus Transfor...

  • Big, beautiful, high-res display, Dolby Mobile audio surprisingly effective; big, full sound, Excellent responsiveness to screen rotations, Small but decent selection of pre-loaded apps
  • Frame rates not as smooth as we'd hoped, Build quality issues with backlight, overheating, Our model's camera was on the fritz, A bit on the heavy side, but it's not a dealbreaker, Conclusion, The A700 feels like an ambitious device that maybe was releas
  • The A700 feels like an ambitious device that maybe was released a little too early. With some more time spent finalizing engineering issues, perhaps some of those hardware problems we spoke of could have been adequately addressed. The heat problem, espe...

  • Right now, only the Acer Iconia Tab A700 and the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 have 1920 x 1200 displays. They go neck and neck with the New iPad and its Retina display and they have top CPU and storage specs plus USB host. But the A700's aging ...

  • Despite its young age and bleeding edge specs, the Iconia Tab A700 is already last generation’s news. Call it bad timing, call it lack of innovation, or call it the victim of the Nexus 7, but whatever way you cut it, the A700 is already a dated piece o...
